Early summer Bracken fronds sprout through last year’s decaying stems to a backdrop of equally tenacious lichens. Along with the charming cockroach, bracken is one of the life forms most likely to survive another mass extinction event, as they did the previous – the one that did for the dinosaurs.

    • Looks like in nature it’s the dedicated nasties that survive; rather reminiscent of politics, big business or indeed come to that the self-serving pond life that inhabits the art market world
