Work No. 682. So you want VFX?

So you want VFX?
c. Michael St.Mark 2014

( Probably not suitable for epileptics )

Deliberately ‘ in your face ‘ commentary on the seemingly fixated quest by contemporary artists for new kinds of visual effects ( VFX ), abstract or otherwise surface pattern / colour detail, or as Duchamp described, ‘retinal’ expressions that generally aim at eliciting emotional responses of some kind from the viewer; eschewing the notion that art can, and perhaps should, also comment, criticize and enlighten on the complexities of life as it’s lived by present day societal groups. Such as in *Michael Dean’s admirable ‘ Poverty Line ‘ 2016 Turner Prize-nominated piece (links below); or perhaps supremely in Millet’s classic The Gleaners.
