They’re called transformers GS; used to step down the high voltage arriving from the power station through the cables on the tall pylons you see marching across fields.
High voltage has to be used to carry the electricity large distances because there is less resistance and less waste of power ( heat) through the cables. The voltage used ( about 220,000 volts) is too high for domestic use so has to be changed into 240 volts and about 15 amperes. That’s the job of these weird-looking devices.
Who would have thought such things existed in the middle of suburbia. You say it’s not a brilliant idea to venture near them, but they look as though anyone could do just that. How did you manage to take the photo?
I posted a few pics on my site this week – just views, nothing special – no dadaist influences there. Having looked at this site though, I may just start viewing what is around me in a different light. That’s what I love about blog.co.uk – I can often learn something new here.
Sinister huh? :))
i wouldn’t mind the guy who killed my friend and colleague yesterday driving in wrong way and smashed my friend as his car while we were waiting him for a meeting at Univ. has some shocks there! huge ones indeed!
I’ve been trying to deal with it in my mind, but minds are funny isn’t it Mike? i should by now be used to it since the greatest one, my sis.death, and recent ones from 2 relatives also 3 friends since the end of last year till now..we think we get stronger but when this hapens…well, all seems unreal!

We do not die Kiki dear, only the body. I believe your loved ones are busy shedding their memory skins in the spirit world from their lives on earth and will return again as newborn children in a few years.
Many gloves get put on and then discarded as the hand moves on.
I will send you my email address if you wish to use it to send any Kiki Dada pics.

What you tell reminds me something i had to read while studing the Degree, in Mentalities, in Bible that stuff of stairs: the world is full of stairs, some are to upstairs and others to new ones downstairs…makes sense? don’t know if i expressed myself well…anyway that’s why i love to watch stars at night, some of them are “mines”, lol.
Ok, have a nice day, here in lisboa today we’r having 29 to 30+degrees, so this is Summer, not Spring! Hugs2you,kk

Those electric sarnies are right in the middle of Harpenden, GS. Everyone strolls past the grey killers on their ways to and from the station.
Photo taken from a nearby car ramp which rises up to a Tescos car park.
Zoomed in a bit over the secrurity fencing and fine pix setting on this one ( 4 MP ).
Cinch really! ( I’m giving away my trade secrets here)
Look forward to seeing your pics too.

Do your own Dada piece and send it in GS, if you wish. That’s what it’s all about, no elitism ’round here!
