London Dada Work 508; “But I Ingress”

But I Ingress
c. Michael St.Mark 2011

Former public conveniences. Victoria Park, Finchley. London N.

About

Interest was evoked by a surprise reversal of nature in this public space, a large
Ivy creeper growing inwards – towards the dark – and almost inevitably gaining access
through the narrowest of spaces. Additionally the frosted silhouette of this secretive
plant, with its ancient associations with witchcraft and the occult,
empowering it
with somewhat sinister and menacing overtones, even perhaps invoking disturbing
echos of the shower scene in Hitchcock’s Psycho or else some B Movie
Day of the Triffids’esque
“thriller”.

  1. very ‘creepy’ indeed! 😀 it’s like the Day of the Triffids all over again. I particularly like the view of the ivy through the frosted glass, something mutant out to get you.

Was this taken in the ladies or gents by the way?:D :))))
