RIP Lou Reed 1942 – 2013
Artist of genuine integrity and talent who fearlessly portrayed the full spectrum of life around him and who relentlessly upheld core human values; ‘telling it like it is’ regardless of career-limiting consequences
“Dirty Boulevard” from the 1989 New York album
“ Give us your hungry, your tired, your poor; we’ll piss all over them“
That’s what the Tory/Lib Dem coalition say.
What’s this live traffic feed bollocks. It says I’m a visitor from Caerphilly leaving a comment. We might have some Caerphilly Cheese in the fridge buty last time I looked (before the storm admittedly) our house was still in Accrington

Loved some of his stuff but he could be a bit of an arse. I’m more of a Tom Waites man.

Lou had a reputation, for sure. He was tough and he could be grumpy and bitchy, but his bitchiness came out when there was incompetence about. Didn’t matter if it was a waiter or a record producer, he’d rip someone apart if things weren’t up to scratch.
He didn’t suffer fools gladly. That’s just the way he was, but he was also incredibly encouraging and generous. Not many human beings can manage even that.
